ARTIST BIO

 

Elphoto.cz is the pseudonym of a Czech photographer Lenka Janu. In her work, she focuses on portraits, landscapes, lifestyle and product photography. This project was created based on her individual experiences as well as real-life situations (political and social affairs) that contemporary society is facing.

Individual photographs capture human emotions that were ever more intense as a result of the events of the last couple of years. Please accept her warm invitation and look at the current political and lifestyle trends through her eyes.

ARTIST STATEMENT

 

The project „Reflection In Time“ is a composition of twelve photographs depicting the burning period of the world pandemic. Insufficient social support, fear of uncertain future, life in virtual reality, constant changes in the government, media overwhelm, situations that affect personal life, loneliness, the difference between reality and online presence, restrictions on the cultural sphere and the complete suspension of several industries, but also other aspects of the current era such as identity loss, gender issues, confusion of traditional roles and factors influencing motherhood in the light of existing trends. However, the project also highlights the potential of change and the importance of choice that is in the hands of every single one of us. Every vote counts.
